We’re in the business of helping people – literally. Every day, our recruiters sit down at their desk, and pick up the phone ready to help the person on the other end of the line find their next job, their next career, their next paycheck – their lifeline. But we don’t draw the line there. For us, helping people is an every-day, all day, year-round commitment – both inside and outside the four walls we work in. But we wanted a way to formalize that commitment.
When our CEO, Cassandra Sanford, was invited to a simple lunch [over a decade ago!], it felt as though the perfect opportunity almost fell into her lap when she was asked to join a committee of The United Way St. Louis. It was shortly thereafter that our organization, impassioned by what we saw The United Way doing in our communities decided to begin annual giving campaigns in their honor. Since then our program has grown to include 90% of our employees participating in our annual payroll deduction program, and 100% participation during United Way Spirit Week and Volunteer Days.
And so with all of that in mind –
It is with a ton of pride an excitement that we announced earlier just last week KellyMitchell’s 1st Annual Dress to EMpress professional clothing drive in honor of our philanthrophy-minded, fashion-loving teammate Emily Evans Kline, who passed away earlier this year. The details are attached, but the short story is that KellyMitchell employees, families, and friends are encouraged to bring gently-used professional clothing, shoes, and accessories to any KellyMitchell Office between today and December 8, at which point we will be donating all item to Employment Connection, a St. Louis-based United Way Agency.
We look forward to honoring Emily’s life and style by giving the gift of great clothes to an organization whose mission – to inspire and empower people to change their circumstances and become employed – aligns so well with ours.
